Update Your 9-1-1 Service Address

Your registered service address is the address emergency services will be sent to when you dial 9-1-1. If you have moved your phone adapter to a new location, update it here before using the service at that location.

Emergency services will continue to be dispatched to your current registered address until this change is processed and confirmed. Keep an alternative means of calling 9-1-1, such as a cellular telephone, available until you receive confirmation from us.

Received. We will confirm your new 9-1-1 service address by email. Until you receive that confirmation, emergency services will be dispatched to your previous registered address.

Terms of Service

9-1-1 Emergency Service

The VoIP service provided by Roblin Tech Services Inc. includes access to Basic 9-1-1 emergency service. VoIP 9-1-1 service differs materially from traditional telephone 9-1-1 service, and the Customer acknowledges and accepts the following.

Routing. With traditional telephone service a 9-1-1 call is delivered directly to the nearest emergency response centre. With VoIP service the call is forwarded to a third-party service provider, which routes it, automatically or manually, to the appropriate Public Safety Answering Point. The emergency operator may not receive the Customer's name, address or telephone number.

Location. The Customer must state their location and contact particulars to the emergency operator immediately on every 9-1-1 call. Emergency services will be dispatched to the address registered on the Customer's account, which may not be the Customer's actual location.

Registered address. The Customer is responsible for maintaining an accurate registered service address and must update it at roblintech.ca/911 before using the service at a new location. Roblin Tech Services Inc. is not responsible for emergency services being dispatched to an incorrect address arising from an out-of-date registered address.

Service interruption. VoIP 9-1-1 service depends on electrical power, Internet connectivity, and an active account in good standing. 9-1-1 service will not function during a power, network or Internet outage, or where the service has been suspended or disconnected, including for non-payment. Calls may produce a busy signal or take longer to connect than a traditional 9-1-1 call. The Customer is advised to maintain an alternative means of accessing emergency services, such as a cellular telephone.

During a call. The Customer must not disconnect a 9-1-1 call until instructed to do so by the emergency dispatcher, and must call back immediately if disconnected.

Other users. The Customer is responsible for notifying all members of their household and any other person who may use the service of the nature and limitations of 9-1-1 emergency calling, and for affixing the warning stickers supplied by Roblin Tech Services Inc. to each telephone set connected to the service.

Consent. The Customer's express consent to these limitations is obtained before activation. Service will not be activated without it.

Limitation of liability. Roblin Tech Services Inc. is not liable for any damages, losses, costs or claims arising from the failure or outage of VoIP 9-1-1 service, including failure to reach emergency services, dispatch to an incorrect address resulting from out-of-date Customer information, or interruption caused by power or Internet failure. The Customer's full statement of these limitations is published at roblintech.ca/liability-notice.

Alternative formats. This section, and all customer notification material relating to 9-1-1 service, is available in alternative formats including Braille and large print on request.
